Vaccinations

This guide can help you understand the vaccines offered in Scotland and when to have them. It also explains how they work and why they’re safe and important. For most routine vaccinations NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde will invite you by sending you a letter when you become eligible. You do not need to contact them nor your practice to arrange your vaccinations.

We ask that you please do not contact the GP surgery regarding your vaccination appointment as we do not have access to the clinic schedule to advise when you will be appointed or to change any booked appointments.

Different vaccines are given at different ages to protect you and your child. Find out when these vaccinations are offered, and when and where they’ll be given.

If you’re planning to travel outside the UK, your travel health needs will depend on your individual situation. The Practice no longer provides this service, which is now provided by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

We advise that you arrange an appointment at least 8 weeks prior to your travel date. They may not be able to accommodate you at short notice. In this instance, they will suggest that you seek an appointment with one of the many private providers operating across Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

Vaccinations help protect you and your family from many infectious diseases. You’ll be offered different routine vaccinations at different times, depending on your age and circumstances.

If you received one of your coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccinations outwith Scotland you can upload your official proof of vaccination from that country to your Scottish vaccination record. This will mean you will have a combined fully vaccinated status to show for travel purposes.

Online booking portal – you can log in to book using your unique username and password. This is the same as you had for your previous doses of the coronavirus vaccine. You can also call the National Vaccination Helpline on 0800 030 8013.

Your COVID Status (or COVID passport) contains details of your vaccination record. If you’re aged 12 or over, you can use the NHS Scotland COVID Status app. It’s the easiest and most secure way to prove your COVID status

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde may offer drop-in clinics or other open access services such as mobile vaccination clinics.
